NTR Role
Turnkey Engineering & Delivery

Two purpose-built containerised data centres engineered to support the highly automated and remotely operated infrastructure of Rijeka Gateway, one of the most technologically advanced container terminals in the Adriatic region. The solution combines rapid deployment, high availability and integrated power, cooling, security and monitoring infrastructure within a compact prefabricated architecture.

01
The Challenge

Rijeka Gateway required a highly reliable and secure IT environment to support complex terminal operations, while facing significant spatial and time constraints. The original brick-and-mortar concept for the primary data centre would have delayed commissioning due to permitting and construction requirements, creating the need for a faster deployment model without compromising functionality or resilience.

02
The Solution

NTR redesigned the infrastructure around two standalone containerised data centre units and delivered the project as a turnkey solution. The prefabricated architecture integrates modular UPS, A/B power distribution, backup generation, redundant DX cooling, fire protection, physical security and NTR’s integrated DCIM/BMS monitoring system. The modular concept enabled substantially faster implementation while retaining the functionality and protection required for mission-critical IT infrastructure.

03
The Result

Between November 2023 and October 2024, NTR engineered, built and commissioned both the primary and supporting data centre units. The completed CDC Rijeka infrastructure provides a stable, remotely monitored environment for high-performance IT systems and supports the reliable operation of the terminal’s advanced automated infrastructure.
